A Feline-Themed Art Show, Competition & Fundraiser Benefiting SOCKS
Every cat has a story. Every artist has a vision.
Meowsterpieces brings them together for a one-of-a-kind community event benefiting SOCKS.
The annual event invites artists to create works inspired by cats – their beauty, personality, independence, playfulness, and the special bond they share with humans. The great Leonardo da Vinci once said, “the smallest feline is a masterpiece.”
For artists, it’s an opportunity to share their work. For supporters, it’s a chance to take home an original piece of cat-inspired art. For everyone, it’s a way to provide food, shelter, medical care, spay/neuter services, fostering support,and adoption opportunities for cats and kittens throughout our community.

Artists may enter up to 3 pieces for one entry fee of $25.

Fort Walton Beach Public Library
June 15 – July 10, 2026
People’s Choice Online Voting, $1 per vote
June 15 – June 26, 2026
Voting STARTS at 9 a.m. June 15, and ENDS at 9 p.m. June 26.
Online Art Auction
June 27 – July 10, 2026
The auction STARTS at 5 p.m. June 27, and ENDS
at 7 p.m. July 10.
2026 Details
All art styles are accepted, including painting, drawing, mixed media, digital, fiber, textile, sculpture, photography, video, sound art, kinetic art and performance. The work must be the artist’s own.
There are three age “cat”egories:
• 12 and younger
• 13 through 17
• 18 and older
Artwork is judged by two methods:
Guest Juror: A guest juror from the arts community evaluates entries and selects winners based on
artistic merit.
People’s Choice: Community members vote for their favorite pieces through an online fundraising
platform.
Trophies are awarded to first-, second-, and third-place finishers in each age category
and judging method.
So there will be nine (9) winners determined by the guest juror, and nine (9) winners by People’s Choice. The artwork may win in both judging methods.

Every year, SOCKS cares for hundreds of cats and kittens, many of whom arrive sick, injured, orphaned, or in need of extensive medical care. Fundraising events like Meowsterpieces help provide the resources necessary to continue this work and ensure that every cat has the opportunity for a healthy future and a loving home.
