Meowsterpieces

Every cat has a story. Every artist has a vision. Meowsterpieces brings them together for a one-of-a-kind community event that celebrates creativity while helping save the lives of homeless cats and kittens.

Hosted by Save Our Cats and Kittens (SOCKS), Meowsterpieces is an annual feline-themed art show, competition, and fundraising auction that showcases the talents of local and regional artists of all ages. The event invites artists to create works inspired by cats—their beauty, personality, independence, playfulness, and the special bond they share with humans.

2026 Details

This show’s theme is feline, a celebration of all things cat, from their beauty and agility, to their independence and playfulness.

We invite all art styles, including painting, drawing, mixed media, digital, fiber, textile, sculpture, photography, video, sound art, kinetic art and performance.

Trophies awarded in three age categories:
• 12 and younger
• 13 through 17
• 18 and older

Art with a Purpose

What makes Meowsterpieces unique is that every piece of artwork helps support the mission of SOCKS.

After the exhibition and judging are complete, submitted artwork is auctioned to raise funds for the shelter’s lifesaving programs. Proceeds help provide food, shelter, medical care, spay/neuter services, fostering support, and adoption opportunities for cats and kittens throughout our community.

For artists, it’s an opportunity to share their work while making a meaningful impact. For supporters, it’s a chance to take home an original piece of cat-inspired art while helping animals in need.

Open to Artists of All Ages and Mediums

Meowsterpieces welcomes a wide variety of artistic styles and mediums, including:

Artists may typically submit multiple pieces for a single entry fee, creating a diverse and engaging exhibition that highlights the incredible creativity within our community.

Competition and Awards

Meowsterpieces combines the excitement of an art exhibition with friendly competition.

Artwork is judged through two methods:

Juried Awards
A guest juror from the arts community evaluates entries and selects winners based on artistic merit.

People’s Choice Awards
Community members vote for their favorite pieces through an online fundraising platform, with each vote helping raise additional funds for SOCKS.

Awards are presented across multiple age categories, giving young artists and experienced creators alike the opportunity to be recognized for their work.

More Than an Art Show

Meowsterpieces is more than a competition—it’s a celebration of compassion, creativity, and community.

Visitors can explore imaginative cat-themed artwork, meet fellow animal lovers, support local artists, and learn more about the work SOCKS does every day to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome cats and kittens. The event demonstrates how art can bring people together around a common cause and create real change for animals in need.
