Display

Works will be displayed from September 3, 2024 – September 21, 2024 in the SOCKS event building, followed by an awards presentation and reception on September 21 from 2:00 – 3:30 PM.

Styles

We invite all art styles, including painting, sculpture, photography, design, craft, video, sound art, kinetic art, and performance. There are three age categories: child (ages 12 and younger), teen (ages 13-17) and adult (18 and older).

Standards

Artworks must be ready for installation. For 2-D objects, please wire the back of the artwork. The artist must assemble any piece requiring assembly by appointment.

Judging Methods

The People’s Choice

  • An online pay-to-vote system will determine People’s Choice winners.

  • $1 = 1 vote.

The Guest Juror

  • We are honored to have J. Wren Supak as a juror.

  • Supak is the Director & Curator of Mattie Kelly Art Center Galleries at Northwest Florida State College.

Terms and Liabilities

SOCKS, its officers, employees, directors, members or volunteers will not be liable for damages during shipping. The entry fee may be paid online via credit card, or by check. The entry fee is nonrefundable. Images of selected works may be used for marketing. Submission of an entry to the Meowsterpieces show and competition signifies agreement with these conditions.

Awards

Trophies will be awarded to first, second, and third-place finishers in each age category and judging method. So there will be nine winners determined by our guest juror, and nine winners in People’s Choice. The same work may win in both judging methods.

Artworks must be delivered no later than August 23. Local artists may hand-deliver their work by appointment.
